Three things will last forever: faith, hope, and love - and the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 (NLT)

Put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming. You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world. But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us. - Colossians 3 (NLT)

Faith is like a parachute, the stronger your faith the larger the parachute. Some people take off their parachute when the skies are clear and there is no turbulence. This leaves them vulnerable to unforseen storms. Keeping a parachute on at all times, while strengthening it, ensures if the day should come that it is needed, it will open wide providing a soft landing.

I see that the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad, and my tongue shouts his praises! My body rests in hope. For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your Holy One to rot in the grave. You have shown me the way of life, and you will fill me with the joy of your presence. - Acts 2:25 (NLT)

Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 1 Corinthians 13:4 (NLT)

The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.
He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.
You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23 (NLT)

“Father, I abandon myself into your hands;
do with me what you will.
Whatever you may do, I thank you:
I am ready for all, I accept all.
Let only your will be done in me,
and in all Your creatures -
I wish no more than this, O Lord.
Into your hands I commend my soul;
I offer it to you with all the love of my heart,
for I love you Lord,
and so need to give myself,
to surrender myself into your hands,
without reserve,
and with boundless confidence,
For you are my Father.”
- By Charles de Foucauld (1858-1916)

Life is like a bicycle. While riding my bicycle I know I may fall off, I may hurt myself, I may end up suffering, I may even end up dying. I’m thankful for the bicycle because it brings me so much enjoyment, peace and freedom. When I fall off, and I hurt, I don’t blame the person that gave the bicycle to me, I thank them for the gift. Life is like the bicycle, a gift from God. When I fall off Life, God helps me generate the courage to get back on track. I don’t blame God for the suffering life may cause me. I thank him for the gift, the opportunity to experience life.
